Project Description
Goodwill Retail, Distribution, and Learning Center, Belton, TX
A 23,000 square foot single story multi-structure building, linking a learning center, a retail store, and a distribution sorting center, this project had its’ particulars since the City of Belton made it clear that this part of the city must have a “high end” look. BE’s involvement was the entire civil package including structural foundation. Again is in previous projects, the poor soils in the area, required extra care and tedious design calculations. Upon 85% of completion, the owners found themselves over budget, and BE designers studied the bids, and presented a multitude of options to reduce cost, thereby meeting the financial cap of the owner, and guaranteeing the progress of the project. Production of our plans consisted of site dimensional plan, utility layout, pre and post development drainage study, grading plan, erosion control plan, plan/profile sheets for off-site storm drain extension, construction details, foundation plan, and foundation details. All in all, the project went efficiently, meeting the goals of the City of Belton, and the cost restraints of the owner, to produce plans and construction to occupy and operate an attractive building in 2013.
CONSTRUCTION COST: $2,100,000.00
